                            -SUI versus -SUIX mode

When you invoke EMACS with the command-line option -SUI, or if you give the
command ESC-X SUI within EMACS's Fundamental Mode, you are placed within the
Standard User Interface. This is a subset of EMACS's normal functionality,
with special added ease of use features. Most of EMACS's Fundamental Mode
ESCAPE-prefix and CONTROL-character commands, with the exception of those
listed in HELP screen #16, are either DISABLED or IGNORED within the SUI. You
use your terminal's function keys to control EMACS. Prime Computer Inc. can
supply you with EMACS SUI overlays to label your terminal's function keys.

When you invoke EMACS with the command-line option -SUIX or if you give the
command ESC-X SUIX within EMACS's Fundamental Mode, you are placed within the
Standard User Interface, with eXtensions. In this interface, you may still use
all the keystrokes and commands mentioned above, PLUS most other EMACS commands.

PLEASE NOTE: Some of the Fundamental Mode ESCAPE-prefix and CONTROL functions
are not available in -SUIX mode on the PT45 terminal because of unavoidable
naming conflicts. See the SUI Primer for the list.
