Noting the discussion on "Digital Archives", I wonder if
it is in scope to suggest collaborating with the 
Internet Archive (archive.org) in creating an archive of
"software"; for books and reference materials, the 
texts archive (and recently announced opencontentalliance.org)
might offer some additional resources.
